Kinnect MCP connects AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to your Kinnect account, so you can ask about your records, reports and documents in plain words. This guide sets it up in Claude, the assistant it works with today, in about two minutes.
Before you start
A Kinnect account you can sign in to, family or professional.
A Claude account. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the Free plan allows one.
The Kinnect connector address below. You will paste it into Claude.
Kinnect connector address
https://mcp.kinnect.us/api/mcpAdd Kinnect in Claude
These steps are the same on claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app, on the Pro, Max and Free plans. On a Team or Enterprise plan, see Team and Enterprise below first.
Open Customize, then Connectors
In Claude, open Customize and choose Connectors.
Add a custom connector
Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it Kinnect and paste the address
Type Kinnect as the name and paste the address into MCP server URL. Leave the advanced settings as they are.
https://mcp.kinnect.us/api/mcpFinish adding it
Select Continue, keep the sign-in settings Claude suggests, and select Add.
Connect and sign in to Kinnect
Select Connect. A Kinnect sign-in page opens: sign in the way you always do, with your email code, password or Google.
Allow Claude
Kinnect asks whether to allow Claude to access your account. Check the name it is signed in as, then select Allow. You go back to Claude, and Kinnect shows as connected.
What Allow gives Claude
Claude can read and update your Kinnect data with exactly the access you have in the app, nothing more. Every change is shown to you first and only made when you agree.
Ask your first question
Start a new chat. To check that Kinnect is on for it, select + in the message box and open Connectors. Then ask a question in your own words, for example:
“Which Kinnect accounts can I see?”
“What's our household net worth today?”
“Show the Ownership Map and explain who owns the lake house.”
“Find the latest statement for Mom’s IRA and summarise it.”
The first time Claude uses a Kinnect tool it may ask for your permission. Choose Allow always for tools that only read, and keep approval on for tools that make changes if you like to be asked.
Team and Enterprise
On a Team or Enterprise plan an Owner adds Kinnect once for the whole organisation. Each person then connects their own Kinnect account, so everyone sees only what they can see in Kinnect.
Owner: add Kinnect for the organisation
Open Organization settings, then Connectors. Select Add, then Custom, name it Kinnect, paste the address, and select Add.
https://mcp.kinnect.us/api/mcpEveryone: connect your own account
Open Customize, then Connectors. Find Kinnect (labelled Custom), select Connect and sign in to Kinnect.
Claude on your phone
Add Kinnect on claude.ai or the desktop app first. It then works in the Claude app for iPhone and Android when you sign in with the same Claude account.
Claude Code
For technical users: add Kinnect from a terminal, then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Kinnect to sign in.
Terminal command
claude mcp add --transport http kinnect https://mcp.kinnect.us/api/mcpDisconnect
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and remove Kinnect from its menu. Claude can no longer reach your account. Nothing in Kinnect changes.
