Distributors: A must have Plan-B

We understand how difficult it is to make sure everyone has what they need when they need it.

It’s often at the worst of times, such as when a loved one passes away, that we become aware that there are things we need that we don’t have, and grief quickly becomes compounded by frustration.

With Kinnect, it’s never been easier to help those who rely on you to avoid these unnecessary hardships.

We know there are certain types of information that you might want to share immediately with someone, like your Netflix credentials, but there are other types of information, like legal documents or financial information that other people will need one day, but you might not want them to have access to yet.

Adding distributors in Kinnect is a secure, reliable way to make sure that the critical information others in your life will need one day ends up where it’s needed, when it’s needed.

For example: If you have a will, and you know one day your kids will need it, but don’t want them to have access to the details, you can add it as a record in your vault, and share it with your kids on a later date. This will let them know it exists, but they won’t be able to view it.

Distributors have the ability to ‘distribute’ the records in your vault in the event of the unforeseen.

When this happens, your account will go into fail-safe mode for up to 7 days, you will receive notifications every day, and at any point you, or any distributors of your account can cancel distribution.

Upon expiration of system failsafes, the records in your vault that have been shared at a later date will be changed to immediately available for those you’ve shared with.

To add a distributor, go to the relationships page, and select ‘my distributors’. We highly recommend adding at least one family member and one non-family member as distributors of your account.

Adding someone as a distributor doesn’t give them access to any information in your vault, it only gives them the ability to distribute your records and initiate system failsafes.

You can view the distributor Permissions you’ve received in your Relationships page by selecting received permissions.
